FREE Wine Tasting: This Saturday in store 2-7pm!

South Africa Fairtrade Wine TastingIt’s time for our next tasting & this time we’re heading back to the New World to look at some great wines from South Africa…

Often overlooked by the better-known offerings from Oz & N.Z., wines from this historic wine-producing country arguably produce better value-for-money than the Antipodeans and their wines tend to show a style somewhere between the ‘Old World & the ‘New World’.

We’ll start things off with a new sparkling rosé from our fairtrade producer, Thandi, followed by 2 whites and 2 reds, including a gold medal-winner and a highly rated newcomer from Rustenberg.

Don’t forget to check out all our great Bin-End bargains too …. some cracking offers in store & some not hanging around too long…! The Chapel Hill Chardonnay has already run down!

As usual we’ll kick-off around 2pm and end up at 7pm. It’s a ‘free, walk-in’ tasting and a good chance to sample something ‘new’, or perhaps a bit different from your normal choice.

We have some genuinely fantastic offers on our wines at the moment!

Chapel Hill Chardonnay is down from £15.95 to only £7.95 – save 50%! This Australian wine from McLaren Vale is an elegant creation of great finesse and style. It’s a perfect accompaniment to fish and wine doesn’t come any better at this price.

From New Zealand, Prophet’s Rock Pinot Gris was £18.95. Now it’s just over half price at £9.95 and is a real treat for lover’s of pinot grigio! If you have the patience, you can even cellar this wine for another four or five years…

Looking ahead to warmer weather, we have a great bargain in the Yalumba Sangiovese Rosé. Some of you may remember we used to stock this a year and a half ago. Now the same vintage has returned at the rock bottom price of £5.95!

To start with, we’ve included one of our bestsellers, the Albizu Tempranillo which is a lovely (and very drinkable!) red wine from Spain. This wine is suitable for all occasions!

If you like your Italian white wines, then we’ve included a Pieno Sud from Sicily. This has a notes of pear and red apple coupled with a lemony crispness.

Italian Wine Tasting at The Village VineOur wine tasting for October will be showcasing some new Italian wines.

As usual, it’s a free walk-in tasting with no obligation to buy on the day (although all tasting wines will have 10% off!). There will be 6 wines on tasting with a range to suit all tastes.

We kick off at 2pm and end up at 7pm.

Do come along if you are free on Saturday 20th October! This will also be a good chance to start thinking about what wine you might like over Christmas…

European Wine Tasting This Saturday 2-7pm!

International Wine Challenge GoldOur next monthly wine tasting is this weekend, Saturday 11th August!

As usual, it’s a free walk-in tasting and this weekend we’ll be celebrating some European wines that have won medals and trophies. There’ll be 1 Rose, 2 White wines and 3 Red wines available!

We’ll be revealing the wines on the day, but we can guarantee that they will lift your spirits after somewhat of a damp summer so far…

There’s 10% off all tasting wines on the day.

New Wines for Spring 2012

As the sun seems to be reappearing, we’ve got some great new wines online for you to try!

Some new organic wines include a very tasty Barbera d’Asti Superiore Trinchero from North West Italy is a great try at £12.95.

We have a new organic red and white duo; Mont’Albano Grillo and Nero d’Avola at £8.50.

From Germany, there’s the lovely Louis Guntrum Riesling which has the scent and taste of peaches, green apples and juicy pears. Just £9.95!

The biodynamic Knobloch Riesling Kabinett is also well worth trying at £11.50.

Australian Wine Tasting, Saturday 14th April!

Australian Wine Tasting in Bournemouth and Poole!As the weather warms up, it’s time to head to Australia for our next monthly wine tasting!

We’ll have 6 new wines on offer and open to taste. All wines will be 10% off on the day, but as usual we’ll limit 2 bottles (of each) max. purchase on the day.

We’ve also got the fabulous Ferngrove River Cabernet/Merlot on offer at just £7.95 and limited stock. You might remember this as going down really well at one of our wine tastings last year.

January Winter Wine Tasting To warm you up during the winter months, we’ll be having a special Winter Wine Tasting on Saturday, January 28th 2012.

Come along between 2pm-7pm and enjoy a sneak preview of some wines coming in for 2012.

We also have plenty of bin-end offers after Christmas so it will be a great chance to grab a bargain!
